Random pics from the week

Last week Dorian's school held their annual "Gallery Night".  All of the kids in the 5th grade chose a famous person from history and of course Dorian chose Abe Lincoln.  He has loved Abe Lincoln since the time he was little, not sure why but he has so many facts about Abe Lincoln it was a no brainer I suppose.

He did an awesome job on his presentation and I have to admit I did a great job on his costume since he waited until 10:01pm Wednesday night to tell me that he needed to dress like Abe.  On my lunch break Thursday I ran to the party store and found the closest thing to an Abe Lincoln Hat, then rushed to the fabric store to buy furry black fabric for his beard as well as pipe cleaners to loop his beard over his ears.  Last but not least, ran to Goodwill to get a black sports jacket.  Total cost of costume...$13.56.  Out of the 4 Abe Lincolns at Gallery Night, Dorian was the only one dressed like Abe.  Woo hoo, way to go mom!!  Toot toot (tooting my own horn) :)

Mean while back at home, Taylor was getting ready for his Valentines Formal on Saturday night.  His girlfriend Natalie was wearing a red dress so off we went shopping...I will spare you the details but I can tell you this much....formal shopping for a boy is just as much work as for a girl!!  I thought we would never find the "right" shoes, tie, haircut. etc. but you get the picture.  FINALLY at last, we found everything we needed.

Taylor before formal...of course he wore his stupid hat
but still looks pretty cute!

30 Days of pictures...

So, I saw this post on my friend Riane's blog and decided it was just too good to pass up, I have to do it too.  It's called "30 Days of Pictures".

Every day for 30 days I will post a picture that corresponds with the assignment for the day.  Even though I'm not a consistent blogger, I am going to do my best to follow the regimen.  I figured this way I can get in the habit of blogging more regularly as well as share some of my/our pictures with you.

As for today, here are a few of my favorite Christmas pictures.  LOL..That shows you what a crappy blogger I am, it's almost Valentines Day and I haven't even posted Xmas pictures.  Better late than never is my motto:

his dads house in Arizona.  We missed him!

Halloween, braces and baby Daylan....

I was hoping that things would slow down after school started but it seems like we are busier and busier every day.  I can't even believe that Thanksgiving is just around the corner.  This time last year we had just moved into our new house and were decorating the nursery for Daylan...seems like only yesterday.

I'm looking forward to the end of December...I have 12 days off in a row.  WOO HOOO!!  Here are a few pics from Halloween and the first of November.  As always, sorry for being such a bad blogger.
Oh and I want to send a great big congrats out to my friend Katie in Las Vegas....I know you and Kevin are going to be great parents. :)

Still lovin his little lamb swing....

So, ever since Daylan was about 3 weeks old he has loved being in his swing. We have his swing in our room, in front of our closet, at the foot of our bed right next to the stereo. Ever since he was a little guy, he has loved country music so of course we always have our radio station tuned to KRKT. Whenever he is crabby and restless, we put him in his little lamb swing, close the curtains and turn on the radio and he heads off to happy land. I think he can smell Cody and I in our room so it has always been soothing for him.

Here are a few pictures of baby D (most recent first) in his happy place :)

I'm a sucky blogger....

So I'm officially a sucky blogger...sorry folks! I haven't blogged in so long, but in my defense we have had so much going on since July it's really not my fault! That's what happens when you're the mom of 3 boys.

We have gone through a lot of changes this summer...probably one of the biggest changes is that Cody is no longer the Head Chef of Vault 244 in Albany. He was offered a position as the Executive Chef of the Corvallis Country Club and has been there for about 3 weeks now. It is a great move for our family as he has better hours, more money and also has medical benefits, which he hasn't had for about 20 years.
It is sooooo nice having him home early during the week and he gets so much more time with Daylan which is the most important!!

We have Taylor all registered for his Junior year at South Albany HS (my old stomping grounds), and Dorian is ready to rock his 5th grade year at Periwinkle. Daylan is growing and learning so much every day. It's so amazing to watch the wheels in his head turning trying to figure things out.

Here are some of our most recent pics...
