My growing belly...grow Daylan grow!!

I was just looking back at some pictures from last summer and thought it was kind of cool to see how baby Daylan has grown and grown and grown....notice I said how Daylan is growing, not how big I am growing LOL. I guess that's what being a mommy is all about :)

4th of July - 12 weeks preggo

September - 23 weeks preggo

October - 26 weeks preggo

December - 34 1/2 weeks preggo

Although it feels like I have been pregnant for soooo long, it was just back in May when we found out I was preggo. And now here we are less than 6 weeks from Daylan being born, it seems like the months have flown by. Before we know it xmas will be here, Taylor will have another younger brother, Dorian will become a big brother and Cody and I will have a new bundle of joy to complete our family....all of this because two people fell in love! I can't wait to start this new chapter of our lives together.

I can't believe it's already December

Once again I can't believe another month has come and gone and now it's almost Christmas!! So lets rewind back to Halloween and November for a little re-cap....

Cody got the chance to go to a Blazer game a few weeks ago, thanks to his friend/veggie & fruit provider Vince. Cody, Lane (the boss man) and Vince headed up to the Rose garden to play a little BB before the game on the blazer home court. Although Cody hasn't played BB for quite a while, he had a great time and wasn't half bad :) They even got to shower in the locker room at the Rose Garden! He was however, very sore the next day but a good time was had by all, not to mention a great win by the Blazers later on that night.

The last weekend of October Cody, me, Dorian and Taylor headed out to "Fresh To You" in Stayton (Vince's family farm) to pick out our Halloween pumpkins. We went through the corn maze, the hay maze with great slides and then a 4-wheel drive hayride out to the pumpkin patch to pick out the perfect pumpkins.

We had a great Thanksgiving dinner at my mom and dad's house. Everything was sooooo wonderful and tasted even better because my mom and dad did everything so we were able to just enjoy being together this year. Later in the afternoon we went over to my uncle and aunts house for dessert and spent a little time with the family....it was a good day. OF course we both forgot the camera sitting on the kitchen table so we don't have one shot of Thanksgiving but believe me, it was really nice!! We had a lot to be thankful for this year.

We're moved...not unpacked but moved!

We moved into our house last weekend and are loving it!! My parents ended up renting a u-haul as our housewarming gift so we were able to move everything in one day. Although we were all tired, it was so nice to be able to sleep in our new house Saturday night.

We are still un-packing things and have a lot to do still but we are living here and loving it.

Exciting News!!

WE HAVE A HOUSE!! We are meeting with the owner tomorrow morning to get the keys to our new house in South Albany and are soooo excited! It has taken us a while but with Cody working in Albany and me in Corvallis, living in Albany just made sense so off we go. I'll post pictures next week after we get moved in but it is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath double car garage, fenced back yard for Kaiser, gas forced heat and air....perfect for us and exactly what we were looking for. WOO HOO!

More news....I saw the doctor this week for my 29 week check up and baby Dayaln is doing great. In fact he is doing so great that he is measuring at a whopping 32 weeks rather than the 29 weeks he has actually been cooking. HOLY COW! They are having me come back in 2 weeks to measure him again and if he is still on the big side they are going to schedule an ultrasound to measure just how big he really is. I'll keep you posted.

Last but now least, here are a few pictures from Cody and my Oregon coast get away. We were able to sneak away for 3 nights and 4 days with not kids, no dogs, no calls from work...it was sooo wonderful and relaxing.

September....wait it's already October!

The reviews are in and Vault 244 is officially a hit! The Vault opened their doors for business on September 15th and have been busy ever since. From the reviews I’ve been reading it looks like Cody’s menu has a little something for everyone (way to go babe!) and even though he has been working LONG hours, it is paying off because they are serving a packed house almost every night.

Opening week the Democrat Herald ran a front page article on the Vault which included a picture of my handsome chef in his kitchen!

So after all of the hard work, long hours and minor snafoos that had to be worked out, Vault 244 seems to be the new Hot Spot in Albany….good food, good drinks, great atmosphere and wonderful service. What more can you ask for?

Two weekends ago Taylor got to go to Homecoming prom at his old school (Philomath High School) and was able to catch up with friends and have a great time. Too bad they lost the game!

Who says dudes can't wear pink! Lookin good Tay!

As of Tuesday I am officially 25 weeks preggo and seem to be growing by the day! I saw the doctor last Friday and all of my measurements were exactly 25 weeks so Daylan is doing exactly what he should be doing. I don’t remember being this big quite so early with Taylor or Dorian and I’m kind of wondering how Daylan is going to grow in there another 15 weeks!

Last but not least, this coming Monday Cody and I are flying out (bright and early) for a little Vegas vacation. This will be our first “official” trip together besides the occasional camping trip. No kids, no irate college students, no restaurant….just 4 days of Amy and Cody time which we are both looking forward to. Hopefully lady luck will be shining down upon us when we hit the casinos!

Ta da da da.....we have a name!

So this last week we finally decided on a name for our little snuffy....his name is Daylan Wade Martin. Daylan just because we liked the name, Wade because that is Cody's middle name and Martin because Cody is is daddy and sometime in the near future mommy will have that last name too. :)

Just wanted to share that with you all...I know you've been waiting LOL.

Have a great week you guys!

So much going on....so many changes!

Oh my gosh...I've been meaning to sit down and update our blog for over a month now but we have had so much going on, our lives have just been crazy!

First things first, Cody and I went to our final baby appointment to see the genetic specialist at Sacred Heart over 3 weeks ago and found out that our little bundle of joy is a BOY!! That's right...another boy! The ultrasound tech had just started the ultrasound when BAM...the first thing we see up on the monitor is our little snuffy's little snuffy LOL. Although we were kind of hoping for a little girl, we are so relieved to find out that he is growing perfectly, he is the perfect size and all of his organs and limbs are forming perfectly...well, we are just so happy that he is a healthy little guy! The arrival date is still around the second week of January.

Next, for those of you who don't already know, Cody has accepted a position as Executive Chef at a new Bistro/Martini Bar in Albany called Vault 244. He has been working with Lane Brown, the general manager, for the past month purchasing equipment and supplies, interviewing and hiring new staff etc. just getting ready for the grand opening in September. He is so excited about the restaurant and this amazing opportunity to finally be able to display his talents with an owner/manager who has the same vision...it is a wonderful stepping stone in his career and I'm so proud of him! Here are a few of the most recent pics of the restaurant:

The restaurant is located at 244 1st Ave W, Albany Oregon 97321.
Business hours will be:
Tues - Thurs: 4pm to 11pm
Fri - Sat: 4pm to 12am
Sun: 4pm to 11pm
(541) 791-9511

The restaurant is set to open for business on September 15th so if you're in the Albany area and looking for a great place to grab a bite to eat or a drink, make sure to stop by! Oh ya, I should mention that there are no minors allowed! You can view more pictures and restaurant information on Facebook...just search for Vault 244!

The same day Cody got his job offer from the Vault, I found out that my temporary contract with the Financial Aid office has been extended through October 31st which is very good news! They also extended my hours so I've been working full-time instead of 17 hours a week which will continue through the end of my contract. We were trying to move into a house before school started but timing with our jobs just didn't allow for that so we will most likely be moving to the Lebanon area for a year or so which will be happening the last week of September or the first week of October.

Dorian will be starting the 4th grade at Green Acres on September 1st and is looking forward to being a "returning" student instead of the "new kid"! Taylor has decided to stay with his dad for the first part of his Sophomore year and return to South Albany with hopes of transferring back to Philomath High School and moving in with us in March when he gets his license. He will be registering for school tomorrow which I still can't believe he will be a sophomore!

We also found out some great news about my tumor last Friday when we were at OHSU. It looks like my pituitary tumor isn't being effected by the pregnancy hormones which in turn is not effecting my vision which is really good news! I had a vision test and although my blind spot in my right eye is a little larger than it was this time last year, I still have great vision in my left eye. The doctor explained to us what I needed to watch for as far as vision loss during pregnancy and I have to return to the Casey Eye Institute in November for a re-check but for now my vision is safe!

Between all of the chaos the past month, Cody and I had a chance to get away together for an entire weekend of camping without kids a few weeks ago. So we headed to Olallie Lake which I would recommend to anyone! It is a primitive campground about 30 miles past Detroit lake but the drive is sooooo worth it! Once we got past our accidental sleeping arrangement (we only took a twin size air mattress instead of the queen, took turns sleeping on the hard ground and almost killed eachother before the night was over) we had a great time. Cody caught our dinner the first night we were there, (a juicy trout tha the breaded in garden herb triscuits and egg and cooked over the campfire....mmmmm mmm good!) and we were able to enjoy the peace and quiet and have a great time. Here are some pictures:

Ahhh nice...we didn't kill each other the first night! LOL

Horseshoe and Olallie lakes...what an amazing view!

So...there you have our life in a nutshell...it's been crazy, stressful, eventful, happy, frustrating and fun all wrapped up in one!

Hiking at McDowell Creek Falls

Since we had the day off together last week, we decided to head up to McDowell Creek Falls for a little hike and to let Kaiser take a little dip. It was so sunny and beautiful...what a great way to spend our day off together.

Babies and fireworks on the vineyard...

We are officially 13 weeks pregnant today! Woop woop woop!!!

We saw the specialist at Sacred Heart in Eugene last week and the appointment went very well. They did an ultrasound to measure the fluid on the babies neck along with blood work to test for Down Syndrome and other genetic disorders. During the ultrasound the baby was moving all around, kicking, flipping and flopping which was great to see. After all of the tests came back it looks like the baby has a very small chance of having any genetic disorders...yaaa! I will go back to the specialist on August 3rd for another ultrasound to measure the baby and find out the sex if we want to....hmmm decisions decisions.

First belly picture - 12 weeks 5 days

On the 3rd Cody, Dorian and I went up to the top of the vineyard and watched the fireworks from the Oregon Garden. We also had a great view of Salem/Keizer and all of the fireworks going on down there..it was so beautiful!

Then on the 4th we decided to have our own fireworks at Cody's house. We had quiet the fireworks display with a BANG POW Grand Finale courtesy of Cody! Nice job babe. It was a great way to celebrate our first 4th of July together.

Tumor and OHSU update....

Everyone keeps asking me how my tumor is...what's going on with my tumor etc. so I thought I would give you little update.

I haven't been able to be seen by my tumor doctor at OHSU for the past months because I lost my health insurance when I resigned from University of Southern Indiana BUT....now that I'm insured again they were able to schedule me for a full day appointment on July 31st.

They are going to be doing blood tests at 9:00, MRI at 10:30 and then we will meeting with the doctor at 3:00 to go over the results so we will know the status of my tumor on the 31st. As of right now I don't know the effect if any my tumor will have on my pregnancy and visa versa. Some of the tumor side effect have actually gone away but some are getting worse so it will be good to find out exactly what's going on up there.

Cody will be going with me for the first time so he can meet my doctors and be there for support during the long, boring appointment! :) I will keep you posted when we find out more.

Day at the beach

We decided to wake up early Sunday morning and head over to the beach for the day. The weather was kind of iffy as we got into Newport but as the day went along the weather got better and the sun even decided to peep out. We got to relax on the beach, Dorian got to build sandcastles and dig (his favorite thing lol) and Kaiser got to play ball in the ocean and surf the waves. Who knew he was a surfer doggie!
