Happy New Year and Welcome Daylan!!

When we last blogged (sorry it's been so long) we were headed to the hospital to be induced and to welcome Daylan to the world. We are happy to announce that Daylan Wade Martin was born on December 31, 2009 at 8:31 AM. He weighed 7 pounds 13 ounces and was 21.5 inches long and seems to have gotten Cody's blue eyes :) We had a baby, rang in the new year and celebrated Cody's birthday all in 24 hours. What a day.

The day we were scheduled to be released from Lebanon, we ended up taking Daylan to Portland to Doernbecher Children's Hospital because he didn't have a bowel movement for the first 55 hours of his life. For both Cody and I, it was so scary seeing our new baby hooked to up IV's, monitors etc. but the nurses at OHSU were so wonderful and helped up so much. Thankfully he started going Poo on his own and after a biopsy and barium enema to rule out any disease, we were released to go home with a clean bill of health. It was so great to bring him home to his house and family!! We are so blessed.

So the past month we have spent getting to know Daylan, trying to work through the sleepless nights and enjoying our new addition. :)

In a week and a half, Cody and I are going to get away for a beach getaway to celebrate our one year anniversary. It was a year ago Valentines Day that Cody and I met online....and what a year it's been. Thanks to mom for taking time off to babysit for us.

Here are some random pics from the past month and a half.
